Privacy Policy

CartBack ("we," "our," or "the app") is an abandoned cart recovery application for Shopify stores. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's protected when a merchant installs CartBack on their store.

When a customer starts checkout on a merchant's store and doesn't complete it, Shopify sends us the following information so we can send a recovery email:

• Customer email address and, where available, phone number
• The products, quantities, and total value of the abandoned cart
• A link back to the customer's checkout so they can complete their purchase

We also store the merchant's store name, chosen branding (logo, colors), and email content they configure within the app.

This information is used solely to send automated cart recovery emails on behalf of the merchant, and to show the merchant analytics about their recovery performance (e.g. recovery rate, revenue recovered). We do not use customer data for advertising, and we do not sell customer data to any third party.

Data is stored in a securely hosted database, accessed only over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Only the merchant's own store data is used to generate that store's recovery emails — one merchant's customer data is never used for another merchant's store.

If a merchant uninstalls CartBack, all associated data — abandoned cart records, customer contact information tied to those carts, email sequence configuration, and analytics — is permanently deleted from our systems automatically, without requiring any further action from the merchant.

We use Resend, a transactional email delivery provider, to send recovery emails on the merchant's behalf. Resend processes the customer's email address and the email content solely to deliver that message, in accordance with their own privacy and security practices.

If you are a customer of a store using CartBack and would like your data removed, please contact that store directly — as the merchant, they control their customer data. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you may also contact us directly using the information below.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
